Such a great reminder that we SHOULD be talking about money at the top of our lungs and not buying into the collective ignorance.

I live in a pretty ok area of a town outside of Denver and we happen to be neighbors with a guy who played professional baseball for the Braves back in the 60's & 70's - really nice guy and obviously did ok in life, but certainly wasn't raking in the Millions that ballplayers do now.

My niece & nephew love baseball and we did a little meet and greet over the summer. The kids were only semi impressed and when we left, they both said, "What are they doing living here?"

When we tried to explain that ballplayers back then didn't make the same kind of money they do now, my nephew says, "Why not? It's not like the game has changed."

I had no idea how to break down the economic collapse to a 12-year-old in baseball terms so I didn't try, but I loved his response.
